Tennis tournaments that offer the highest prize money
Every season in the world of tennis, some new records are made and prizes are showered. Especially on the ATP and WTA tour, where tournaments with big prize money are organized for the players every year. The most famous of these are the four Grand Slam tournaments, where both male and female players are given equal prizes. But now it is being seen that sometimes the prize money has started increasing in tournaments outside the Grand Slams as well.
The prize money may be different in the Grand Slams too, but they are still the most profitable. At the same time, ATP and WTA 1000 events are also not far behind, but now a new and unique tournament has caught everyone’s attention, which has come out on top in terms of prize money.
Major tennis tournaments, which offer the biggest prize money to the players:
French Open (Roland Garros)

The 2024 French Open offered a total prize money of €53.5 million, which was 8% more than last year. The winners of the men’s and women’s singles received €2.4 million i.e. about $2.6 million, while the runner-up got €1.2 million. In the doubles matches, the winning team got €590,000 and the finalist got €295,000.
This tournament is played in three major courts at Stade Roland Garros in Paris – Court Philippe-Chatrier, Court Suzanne-Lennel, and Court Simone-Mathieu. Rafael Nadal has won the most titles here, while Chris Evert’s name comes in women’s.
Wimbledon

In 2024, Wimbledon increased the prize money for its winners by 15%. Players who won singles matches received £2.7 million, or about $3.5 million, while the runners-up received £1.4 million. The winners of the doubles matches were given £650,000,and the finalists were given £330,000.
Wimbledon’s Centre Court is the largest court with a seating capacity of 15,000 spectators. Roger Federer (8) is the player who has won the most Wimbledon titles, while Martina Navratilova (9) has won the most titles among women.
US Open

The US Open 2024, organized by the USTA, offered a prize money of $75 million, 15% more than 2023. The winners of the men’s and women’s singles received $3.6 million, while the finalists received $1.8 million. In doubles, the winning team was awarded $750,000 and the finalists $375,000.
The tournament is held at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York, which houses large stadiums such as Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong. Roger Federer, along with Pete Sampras and Jimmy Connors, tops the history with five US Open titles.
Nitto ATP Finals

Every year the ATP Tour ends with the Nitto ATP Finals. The eight best players of the season participate in this tournament and it is considered a very prestigious competition.
In this tournament, every player plays in a round-robin format, and the player who reaches the end without losing, gets 1500 ATP points and $4.8 million. If the player loses in the group stage but still becomes the winner, he gets an amount of $2.2 million. Novak Djokovic has won this tournament a record seven times.
Six Kings Slam

The Six Kings Slam is a special exhibition tournament started by Saudi Arabia. It does not come under the ATP, but its prize money is very attractive. The winner of this tournament in 2024 was given $6 million, while the rest of the players were given an amount of $1.5 million.
It features six top players, including Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Yannick Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Holger Rune, and Daniil Medvedev. Yannick Sinner won the event in 2024 and won the amount of $6 million.
