The schedule for the 15th edition of the Asia Cup has been released, with the tournament set to begin on August 27 with hosts Sri Lanka taking on Afghanistan.
A day later, India and Pakistan will renew their rivalry in Dubai.
The final is scheduled for September 11. The Asia Cup, which was last held in 2018, will be played in T20 format, with nine teams competing.

The United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Singapore, and Hong Kong will compete in a preliminary round, with the winner joining India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh in the main tournament.
Six teams will compete in the main tournament, which will be divided into two groups. Group A consists of India, Pakistan, and the qualifier, while Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. Each team only plays once within the group.
The top two teams advance to the Super 4 round, where they will compete in a league format again before the final, which will feature the top two teams.
The tournament has been relocated from Sri Lanka to the United Arab Emirates, as announced last week.
