The ESL Saudi Challenge is one of the premier esports events, offering a dedicated platform for Saudi gamers to compete at the highest level and connect with the global esports community.
The ESL Saudi Challenge was first launched in October 2024 by the ESL FACEIT Group. The inaugural edition featured Overwatch 2 as its flagship title and was designed to be a direct spotlight for Saudi gamers to gain popularity and enter international competitions. The tournament offered a massive prize pool of $20,000 and drew significant attention. Twisted Minds emerged as the champion of the ESL Saudi Challenge 2024.
Building on the momentum of its debut, the ESL Saudi Challenge is making a major comeback in 2025 with two confirmed editions in Riyadh. One of them is scheduled for May, while the other one takes place later in the year, in December. This expansion is a part of ESL FACEIT Group’s long-term commitment to developing the Saudi gaming ecosystem.
Frank Guigenery, senior vice president, said, “What’s happening in the Kingdom today sets the tone for the future of global e-sports. We’re witnessing a generation of players with world-class potential. The ESL Saudi Challenge is more than a tournament, it’s a launchpad — a gateway that connects Saudi talent to the global esports arena. For the industry, this isn’t just an opportunity — it’s a turning point.”
