South Africa defeated India by 7 wickets in the first T20Is which was played on 9th June at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. It was Rishabh Pant’s first game as captain of the Indian cricket team and it didn’t go well for him as India. David Miller and van der Dussen end India’s 12-match winning streak in T20Is.
After the game, Rishabh Pant in the post-match interview pointed out some things that need to be corrected if India wants to win this 5-match T20I series against South Africa. Rishabh Pant felt that the pitch in the second innings got so much better and it was an advantage for the South African batters.
“We had enough score on the board but Obviously, sometimes we need to give credits to the opposition as well. The pitch got better and better in the second innings and that cost us the game,” said Rishabh Pant in the post-match interview telecasted on Star Sports Network and Disney Hotstar.
Skipper Pant was also confident that the team (India) will learn from their mistakes and will come back stronger in the next game. The second T20I between India and South Africa will be played on Sunday, 12th June at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack.
