Simon Bloch Jørgensen is often hailed as the tallest football player in the world, with an unbelievable height of 2.10m. The game of football undeniably runs in Jørgensen’s blood as he hails from a family of footballers, his great uncle Kaj Hansen and his grandfather Bloch Kristian Peterson both being renowned football players. Jorgensen made his professional debut in football with Frem in 1999 and continued playing for the club till 2007. Jorgensen played his fate-deciding match for Accrington Stanley during the EFL Cup in 2017 and later joined Whitehawk in the National League South, where he proved his on-field prowess without failing. In 2019, Jorgensen signed with Dulwich Hamlet. Currently, the tallest football player performs for an English football club, Waltham Abbey F.C., based in Waltham Abbey, Essex.

Kristof van Hout

Former Belgian football player, Kristof van Hout is considered to be the second-tallest football player in the world. With a towering height of 2.08m, Kristof van Hout established himself as one of the most competitive goalkeepers.  Born on 9th February 1987 in Lommel, Belgium, Kristof van Hout started his professional football journey as a goalkeeper with Lommel United, a Belgium football club. Although Kristof van Hout initially faced quite a lot of criticism regarding his towering height, Kristof van Hout made his international European debut for PSV Eindhoven, a Dutch Eredivisie club, in 2011. All along his career as a goalkeeper, Kristof van Hout assisted his teams with crucial saves in nerve-wracking matches. According to football critics, Kristof van Hout’s tall height favored him to outshine as a dominant force in the penalty area and rule aerial duels.  

Paul Millar 

The Scottish footballer, Paul Millar, has undeniably left his mark on the game’s history with his remarkable achievements and notable victories on the field. With a height of 2.0m, Paul Millar is considered to be the fourth-tallest football player in the world. Paul Millar holds the record for being the only player in the history of Elgin City F.C. to score in two playoffs in the league. Millar played brilliantly against Albion Rovers in the first leg, winning the match with a 1-0 score. Although Elgin City F.C. ultimately lost the overall tie after the second leg, the match established Paul Millar as one of the most dynamic and dependable forwards in Elgin City F.C. Unfortunately, due to a prolonged knee ligament injury, Paul Millar witnessed an unexpected departure from football in 2015.

Tony Brogaard

Often referred to as “the gentle giant” of the football world, Danish professional football player, Tony Brogaard, is one of the tallest football players in the world. The Danish football goalkeeper, Tony Brogaard, made his debut in professional football as a backup goalkeeper for Fremad Amager and later joined Doncaster Rovers in 2015.  With a terrific height of 2.06m, Tony Brogaard is considered to be the third-tallest footballer in the world. Although Tony Brogaard had huge potential, a series of prolonged injuries unfortunately derailed his football career. Tony suffered a major injury during the first match that he played for Doncaster. Despite all his efforts to retain his form, Tony Brogaard had a prolonged recovery and the club chose to let go of him in 2006.  

Lucas Bergstrom 

A Finnish professional football player who currently plays as a goalkeeper for the Allsvenskan club, IF Brommapojkarna, made his debut for the English Premier League (EPL), Chelsea, for his native side, Turun Palloseura (TPS) in 2018. In addition to playing for Chelsea, Peterborough United (loan) and IP Brommapojkarna (loan), the Finnish footballer Lucas Bergstrom has also represented the Finland football team at under-16 and under-17 levels. Furthermore, just ahead of the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification, Lucas Bergstrom was also a part of the under-21 squad in the 2021-2022 season. 2023 witnessed Lucas Bergstrom carving out his debut for the national football team of Finland in a match against Sweden.
