Fabiano Caruana holds rank #2 in the FIDE ranking. He has been a World Chess Challenger, facing Carlsen in the 2018 championship match. He has reached a peak rating of 2822, which is among the highest of all time. He became the youngest grandmaster in the US and Italy. He won the tournament with a score of 8.5/10, winning seven consecutive games against the world’s best players.
