India and Ireland are due to play two-match T20Is against each other in Dublin. Hardik Pandya will lead the Indian cricket team for the first time since he joined the team. Before the first T20I which will be played on Sunday, 26th June, skipper Hardik Pandya gave some indications that there could be some debutants in the game. Hardik Pandya feels some debutants will play but they have to make sure that they are going on the field with their best playing XI against Ireland.
“We want to allow people but want to play our best XI as well. There will be situations where there will be a couple of caps given but more than anything, it’s about making sure that we have the best XI,” said skipper Hardik Pandya in a pre-match press conference as reported by India Today.
There are few names fans want to see in the team in these two T20Is against Ireland. SRH pacer Umran Malik is expected to start in this game (1st T20I). Punjab Kings’ pacer and death bowling specialist Arshdeep Singh could also be seen playing in these two upcoming games for India. There is also one name added to the squad by the selectors i.e. Rahul Tripathi who had a great season of IPL. Rahul had a strike rate of 150+ and scored more than 400 runs in IPL 2022.
Rahul Tripathi can also be seen in the Indian team but for now, that seems unlikely as there are a lot of options in the middle order.
