Often popularly hailed as one of the greatest mixed martial artists in the whole world, Amanda Nunes also established herself as the first and only female MMA fighter to become a two-division UFC champion and the third fighter to hold UFC titles in two weight classes simultaneously, after Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier. Amanda Nunes announced her official retirement from the world of Mixed Martial Arts in 2023 and was ranked at the No.1 position in the UFC women’s pound-for-pound rankings at the time of her retirement.

Furthermore, Cristiane Justino Venâncio aka “Cris Cyborg”, remained undefeated for over a decade and maintained a thirteen-year-long winning streak, speaking volumes about her unwavering dominance in the mixed martial arts. Even today, Cristiane Justino Venâncio is not just regarded as one of the greatest female MMA fighters of all-time, but is also widely credited with elevating women’s MMA on a global level over the years.

The 38-year-old American professional wrestler, actress, and former judoka and mixed martial artist, Ronda Jean Rousey, is at the third spot in our list of the top four most dominant female MMA fighters of all-time. Ronda Rousey kick-started her mixed martial arts (MMA) career with King of the Cage in 2011 and soon joined Strikeforce, becoming their last Women’s Bantamweight Champion, holding the championship until Strikeforce was acquired by the UFC.

Ronda Rousey was also a part of the first female fight at UFC 157, was their inaugural Women’s Bantamweight Champion, and held the record for most UFC title defenses i.e. six by a female. After dominating the world of mixed martial arts with her brutal bouts and unwavering courage, Ronda Rousey announced her official retirement from MMA in 2016 and also became the first female fighter inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018.

Born in Handan, Hebei, China, Zhang Weili started training herself for the mixed martial arts at the young age of six under her local master, Shaolin Kung Fu, and it was only after she turned twelve, her parents sent her to a specialized martial arts school in Handan where she began training in Sanda and a Shuai Jiao. Zhang made her roaring MMA debut in 2013 and fearlessly went on to clinch 11 straight fights before challenging Simone Duarte for the Kunlun Fight Female Strawweight Championship on May 25, 2017, at Kunlun Fight MMA 11.
