The IPL auction for the 2025 edition held on 24 and 25 November in Jeddah was nothing short of a roller coaster. Although a total of 577 players were listed in the auction, only a total of 182 of them were officially signed by the IPL franchises.

A total of ten IPL franchises, including Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Titans (GT), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG), Mumbai Indians (MI), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) picked up a total of 120 Indians and 62 overseas players after spending an overall total of INR 639.15 crore.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, hailing from Samastipur district, Bihar, who plays for Bihar in domestic cricket, has smashed all pre-existing records in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has become the youngest-ever player officially signed by an IPL franchise at the age of 13 years and 243 days.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was registered at a base price of INR 30 lakhs in the auction list of the IPL 2025 edition and was eventually picked up by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) franchise for a whopping INR 1.10 crore amidst the bidding war with the Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise.

At the second spot in our list of the top four youngest IPL players of the IPL 2025 edition we have the young sensation from Tamil Nadu, C Andre Siddarth, who has been creating waves in the world of domestic cricket recently. C Andre Siddarth grabbed immense fame after smashing an unrated 94* runs off 163 deliveries in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season.

Siddarth’s successful exploits in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season earned him a spot in the auction list of the IPL 2025 edition, wherein he was picked up by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise for INR 30 lakhs at the age of 18 years and 89 days.

  • Kwena Maphaka – 18 Years 231 Days

The South African bowling sensation, Kwena Maphaka, is at the third spot in our list of the top four youngest IPL players of the IPL 2025 edition. Although Kwena Maphaka made his IPL debut with the Mumbai Indians (MI) franchise in the last IPL 2024 edition, it did not go down well for the South African bowler as he got to play only two matches in the entire season.

In the upcoming 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) commencing on 22 March 2025, Kwena Maphaka will be playing for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) franchise.
