In this shortest format of cricket, batsmen entertain their fans by hitting big shots. However, just like last season this time too due to COVID-19, fans won’t be allowed to enter the stadium. They will have to watch the match through the TV set at their home. Like the last 13 seasons this time too, many records can be made and destroyed. 14th season of IPL will start from April 9.

#5 AB de Villiers & David Warner

They are at the joint, on the fifth spot as both scored hundred in only 43 balls. South African batsman AB de Villiers, who said goodbye to international cricket in the year 2018, scored a century on 43 balls against Gujarat Lions at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2016, which included 12 sixes and 10 fours. Where as Australian batsmen David Warner also slammed 100 in 43 balls, including 10 fours and 8 sixes which helped SRH win by 48 runs against KKR.   

#4 Adam Gilchrist

Former Australian wicketkeeper batsman Adam Gilchrist scored a century from 42 balls for Deccan Chargers against Mumbai Indians at the DY Patil Stadium in 2008 by . In this match, Gilchrist scored an unbeaten 109 off 47 balls which included 9 fours and 10 sixes. Deccan won this match by 10 wickets.

#3 David miller

South African explosive batsman David Miller is at number three in the IPL in terms of fastest century. Miller played for Kings XI Punjab in 2013 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. He scored 101 runs with the help of 8 fours and 7 sixes. Punjab defeated RCB by 6 wickets in this match played at IS Bindra Stadium.

#2 Yusuf Pathan

All-rounder Yusuf Pathan, who was dropped from Team India, has scored a century in 37 balls in the IPL. In 2010, Yusuf scored 100 runs for the Rajasthan Royals at Brabon Stadium, chasing the target of 209 runs set by Mumbai Indians. Yusuf scored 100 off 37 balls in that match which included 9 fours and 8 sixes. However, Rajasthan’s team lost this match by 4 runs.

#1 Chris Gayle

The record for the fastest century in IPL history is named after the explosive opener Chris Gayle of the West Indies. In 2013, Gayle played for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors at M Chinnaswamy Stadium scored 100 in just 30 balls. Gayle scored an unbeaten 175 off 66 balls in this match which included 13 fours and 17 sixes.

Virat Kohli-led RCB scored 263 runs for 5 wickets on the basis of this excellent innings of left-handed batsman. In response, Pune Warriors could only manage 133 runs for 9 wickets and lost the match by 130 runs.
