A One Day International (ODI) is a style of limited-overs cricket, played between two teams having international status, in which each team confronts a defined number of overs, currently 50, with the game spanning up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, normally held every four years, is played in this format. Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), another name for One Day International contests, can also be used to describe Twenty20 International contests. They represent the pinnacle of List A; limited overs play and are big matches.
