Toto Wolff has recently predicted George Russell’s future performance after the Canadian Grand Prix engine failure.

George Russell was almost winning the Canadian Grand Prix when Mercedes engine failure hit, and gave Kimi Antonelli an easy way to extend his win and points over Russell’s 43 points.

George Russell has not defeated Kimi Antonelli in any races since the season-opening Australian GP. But now, he is just two grand prix points away from doing so in the standings.

Mercedes Chief Toto Wolff Backed George Russell

Even after the recent Canadian Grand Prix heartbreak, Mercedes chief Toto Wolff has backed Russell’s performance.

He said, “Well, things have been going against him in the last few races, and [Canada] would have been big points to collect. He was in the lead, but if there is one guy I would choose in this paddock in terms of resilience and determination, that would be George. He has had to overcome adversity previously, whether it is from karting on to junior formulas, and he is not going to give up in the fight.

Honestly, there are 17 races to go, so many points to score, and he will digest, forget, move on, move forward and drive the best he can, and that’s exactly what he’s going to do.”

What’s Next?

Now, the Monaco race weekend is approaching soon. The race weekend will begin on Friday, June 5, with the opening two practice sessions, then the Qualifying will take place on Saturday, June 6, and the main race is scheduled for Sunday, June 7.

The Monaco Grand Prix will take place in Circuit de Monaco, which is the most unique circuit in F1, being a street circuit because of the narrowness of the streets and tight corners.

It is also known for the change in elevation and the different landmarks, such as Sainte Devote corner, Casino Square, Fairmont Hairpin curve, Monaco tunnel, and La Rascasse.

If you are also a die-hard F1 fan, you can see the Monaco Grand Prix via official F1 broadband and streaming partners.

The race weekend (practice sessions, qualifying and race day) will be shown on live television and by various streams of F1 programming.
