Jose Mourinho was sacked by Spurs on 19th April. This came as a shock to the fans and the players of the club. Jose lead the team into the EFL final and was sacked just 3 days before that. Ryan Mason former Tottenham midfielder was made the Interim coach of the club. Tottenham Hotspurs lost the final against City 1-0.

Since then, there has been intense speculation over Mourinho’s replacement. Julian Nagelsmann, Ten Hag and Brendan Rodgers were considered the primary candidates for the position. Nagelsmann was appointed by Bayern Munich whereas Rodgers and Ten Hag extended their contracts with their current clubs.

This has led to a view that Tottenham are struggling to find a new manager, which the club feel is unfair. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy was always prepared to take his time to work through a recruitment process and it is understood he is yet to identify a favoured candidate, BBC Sport has been told that no discussions have been held.

Interim boss Ryan Mason is continuing to lead Spurs and it is thought unlikely that situation will change before the end of the season.
