Tottenham Hotspur players Giovanni Lo Celso, Cristian Romero, and Davinson Sanchez are expected to face Chelsea this weekend. The South American trio missed last weekend’s game as they could not return to England due to quarantine restrictions.

Cristian Romero, Davinson Sanchez, and Giovanni Lo Celso left for international duties without getting permission from Tottenham. The players could not return to England right after the international break due to quarantine issues. The players trained on their own in Croatia to avoid self-isolation in a government-issued hotel back in England. All three players have not trained with their club teammates in over three weeks.

However, Davinson Sanchez and Cristian Romero are expected to be inducted straight back into the playing eleven. Tottenham currently is in a midst of a mini injury crisis. Eric Dier was injured last weekend against Crystal Palace. Meanwhile, Japhet Tanganga was sent off in the same match and is suspended for the Chelsea game.

Deficiency in defensive personnel might force Nuno’s hand to play Cristian Romero and Davinson Sanchez from the start.

Emiliano Martinez and Emiliano Buendia of Aston Villa are also expected to fly back to England on Saturday. They too have been training in Croatia but traveled to be part of the Argentina squad last month with the full permission of the club and Dean Smith.
