The iconic Grand Central Terminal in New York will host world’s top squash players from 23-30 January for the 2025 Tournament of Champions.

It is the fifth Platinum level event of the season. 

Defending champion and World No.1 Ali Farag headlines the men’s field, while his Egyptian compatriot and fellow World No.1 Nouran Gohar leads the women’s draw in New York.

Farag will be looking to clinch his fourth tournament title. 

World No.2 Mostafa Asal, who won three of those finals will play to take the No. 1 spot, should Farag not reach the final. An in-form player, he is one of the top contenders.

2023 world champion Diego Elias of Peru, who won in New York two years ago, and New Zealand’s World No.4 Paul Coll, are other big players.

In the women’s draw, Gohar will step in the tournament following from where she left at the end of 2024, defeating Nour ElSherbini in the Hong Kong Open final to reclaim the No. 1 world ranking.

ElSherbini, the current No.2 seed with five tournament titles, will look to defend her crown. 

World No.4 Olivia Weaver and  two-time world runner-up Amanda Sobhy are other women players who could make it big. 

Squash as a sport is increasingly getting traction as it prepares to make its Olympic debut at LA 2028.

Tournament of Champions 2025: Venues

Majority of matches will be staged at the Vanderbilt Hall East of the Grand Central Terminal.

A select number of first round matches on day one will be hosted in other venues, including the River Club of New York, Harvard Club of New York, New York Athletic Club, and Nicol Squash Club.
