Indian judoka Tulika Maan has secured a spot for the Paris Olympics 2024. Maan will represent India in the +78 kg category.
Tulika earned a quota for Paris Olympics for judo according to the latest rankings published by the International Judo Federation (IJF).
The Delhi girl stood 36th in the standings with 1345 ranking points during the qualification period from June 22, 2022, to June 23, 2024.
The National Olympic Committees (NOCs) , which have the exclusive authority for the representation of their respective countries at the Olympic Games and athletes’ participation at the Paris Games, will have to confirm if they will use the quota places for judo by July 2.
For each of the 14 judo weight categories at the Paris 2024 Olympics, the 17 highest-ranked athletes (one per country) obtained a quota as per IJF’s Olympic rankings.
Additionally, a maximum of 100 continental quotas across all weight classes and genders were available with each country eligible to secure only one continental quota.

Tulika Maan has won multiple medals for India in Judo at various occasions but had to find her way to the Judo arena the hard way.
As a child, Tulika was never interested in studies. She told her mother that she would not pursue her education further after her 10th board examination.
She lost her father when she was two years old and had been under the care of her mother who was a police constable. Her mother enrolled her in a judo club where Tulika spent most of her time. She initially took judo as a hobby but later adopted it seriously as a profession.

Tulika’s mother spent her savings and even took loans to fund her training. The aspiring judoka worked on herself and did not disappoint. She represented India on multiple stages and made the country.

- Won silver medal at junior national level and since 2019 has been competing in the IJF World Tour.
- Won the Bronze Medal in the Asian Open in Taipei.
- Won the Commonwealth Championships in Jaipur in 2018.
- Made debut at the 2017 World Championships in Budapest and competed at the Worlds in Tokyo
- Won gold medal in the 2019 Commonwealth Championship in Walsall
- Won gold Medal at the South Asian Games in 2019
- Won silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022
