Twitter stands ablazed as Dean Elgar’s Proteas conquer England’s Bazball

The Proteas have ended the test-winning streak of the Ben Stokes-led England team. The teams clashed at the Lord’s for the first match in a three-match test series. And the match went to South Africa with three days of play still left. The clash was rather riled with the captains of both sides engaging in talks about Bazball prior to the face-off. And thus, this win by South Africa is being especially rubbed on the English fans on social media.

With their recent wins over India and New Zealand, the internet went gaga over England’s newly adopted attacking play, the Bazball. And the wins presented Bazball as the ultimate undisputed challenge. And so while the South African team prepared for their clash, they were grilled to present an opinion on Bazball. However, the Proteas captain Dean Elgar was quick to note that he didn’t care about it.

English players like Sam Billings opined how it was “stupid” to ignore Bazball. Moreover, the English captain Ben Stokes also indirectly insisted on their winning play without naming it. Stokes took a dig at Elgar saying he’s the one telling about ignoring the gameplay while consistently talking about it only.

Even before the play as Dean Elgar dismissed Bazball, he instilled his faith in Kagiso Rabada to conquer the English. And after the game, his belief in Rabada proved true. Proteas bowlers, especially Rabada and Anrich Nortje didn’t let England carry the game to the fourth innings. And apparently, that’s where McCullum’s Bazball blooms. Right as Elgar received a mixed response on his comments before the game, after the clash he’s been hailed as the ultimate champion on social media.
