Arsenal have now officially started their legacy in the Champions league again

Arsenal have now officially started their legacy in the Champions league again. Defeating Real Madrid, the current champions at their home is some feat and when the occasion is a knockout stage in the Champions league, it becomes more memorable. Arsenal have defeated Los Blancos in both the legs and Carlo Ancelotti’s men did not have any reply to this young Arsenal team.

For some youngsters, it may have been their biggest match of their career until now, but no player looked like he was under pressure or was not up to the task.

Beside these penalty shouts, Real Madrid were not able to penetrate the Arsenal defence who were showing resilience by holding their shape in transitions as well.

The first half witnessed 0 shots on target from Real Madrid and it looked like Arsenal were half-way through

The second half started again like the first half but again the Gunners were able to gain control back. This dominance was replicated into a beautiful goal by Bukayo Saka which saw the midfield and attack collaborate with patience and understanding.

But just after 2 minutes Vini scored from a Saliba mistake

But just after 2 minutes Vini scored from a Saliba mistake and equalised on the night and needed 3 more to equal the tie. The goal brought a new energy into the Santiago Bernabeu but Arsenal’s defence once again shone as they built a fortress in and around the goal meaning no late goals or comebacks in the white castle.

After not letting score another, Gabriel Martinelli striked the last goal in the injury time after the full 90. The score stood 5-1 for the tie and Gunners have done the mighty Real Madrid badly.

They now advance to the semis and will face PSG in the semi final.
