Denmark defeated France by 2-1 in the UEFA Nations League on Friday night. Denmark made a great comeback in the game as they were behind a goal till the 68th minute. Striker Andreas Cornelius scored a brace which helped the underdogs win against the 2018 World Cup winners (France).
Though no goals were scored in the first half France made some great chances but couldn’t take the lead in the first 45 minutes. However, the French national football team scored the first goal of the game in the 51st minute and it was one of the best strikers in the world again, Karim Benzema who gave the lead to the World champions. With that goal, Karim Benzema reached his 50 goals tally for club and country this season.
After that goal from France, Denmark started giving some serious threats to them. Denmark’s striker Andreas Cornelius who came off the bench in the second half scored his first goal in the 68th minute. That equalising goal changed the whole scenario and Denmark believed that they can win this game. Cornelius scored the winner in the 88th minute and the world champions were defeated.
