United and Spurs are 16th and 17th, respectively, in the league standings, and a Europa League triumph would mean automatic qualification to the Champions League next season.

Spurs’ route to the final saw them beat AZ Alkmaar, Eintracht Frankfurt and then Bodø/Glimt in the semi-final. United, on the other hand, had to go through Real Sociedad, Olympique Lyonnais and Athletic Bilbao, scoring a whopping 19 goals in just the knockout phase.

While both the teams have had a successful run in the European level but have failed to replicate the form in the Premier league where they have had a combined 39 losses. Both the teams are suffering at the bottom of table just above the relegation zone, this might be a big chance for both the teams to qualify for the Champions league. 

Through the Premier League, they have no chance for qualifying for any European competition but if they win this final they will get an automatic qualification for the Champions league.
