Christos Tzolis (Club Brugge)

Christos Tzolis finished as the second Bundesliga’s top scorer with 22 goals in the last season and nearly led his club to promotion. Unfortunately, Fortuna didn’t have the funds to retain Tzolis with the £3m buy option but it made sense to resell at a cool profit. Club Brugge were delighted to get him, and the 22-year-old has had a decent campaign with Belgium .

The left-winger started his Norwich career in 2021 with two goals and a couple of assists in the 6-0 demolition of Bournemouth in the League Cup but had failed to impress after that. Dismissed as a flop, he was loaned to Fortuna Düsseldorf last summer. Champions League 2024-25 will provide him a great opportunity to shine.

Vladan Kovacevic (Sporting)

Vladan Kovacevic helped Rakow Czestochowawin a historic Polish Ekstraklasa league title in 2023. He had been the best goalkeeper at the club for three years and is now looking forward to prove his mettle at Champions League 2024-25

Rakow took part in the Europa League group stage last season and Sporting were impressed with the performances of the 26-year-old in the couple of matches against them. They signed him this summer as the replacement for the veteran Antonio Adán.

Enzo Millot (VfB Stuttgart)

Enzo Millot spent his younger days at the Monaco academy but could not find opportunities to prove his worth in Ligue 1. He then moved to Stuttgart in the summer of 2021 where he had a sensational campaign.

Although many in France considered it a step backwards, Millot overcame a serious injury to announce himself last season. Under the coach, he was made a starter, was given freedom to play naturally and the 22-year-old developed into one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga. He would be hoping to continue doing well at Champions League 2024-25.

Martin Vitik (Sparta Prague)

Martin Vitik, who got one game at Euro 2024, would have loved to play for Bologna in the Champions League this season. However, Sparta’s sporting director, Tomas Rosicky, turned down their offer, claiming his club must keep their best players.

The Czech centre-back has been grabbing eyeballs since finding his place in Sparta’s senior squad in 2020. The tall and athletic 21-year-old will definitely be a player to watch out for at Champions League 2024-25.

Georgian football has been in news after Euro 2024 and the 4-1 drubbing of the Czech Republic in the Nations League most recently. While Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Giorgi Mamardashvili and Georges Mikautadze are getting the headlines,  it is Otar Kiteishvili, a versatile midfielder, who is in the Champions League.

Kiteishvili was voted player of the season in Austria last season as his team won the title, bringing an end to the decade-long domination of Red Bull Salzburg. The 28-year-old signed a new contract over a massive salary in Qatar.
