Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma opened up about giving chances to young lads instead of only backing experienced players. Indian team lost the second T20I against West Indies to level the series by 1-1. Rohit Sharma appreciated the young pacers of India and said they also need to learn how to bowl at death overs.
Rohit Sharma gave chances to Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh in the death overs in the second T20I against West Indies. Experienced bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar usually bowls at the death, but in a low-scoring encounter Indian skipper tried Avesh and Arshdeep to give them experience.
“We know what Bhuvi does for us; he has been doing it for years. Unless you give chances to guys like Avesh and Arshdeep you’ll never know. But it is just one game. They have the skills and the talent and it is all about backing them. I am really proud of the bowlers and the team. Targets such as these can get over in 13-14 overs but we dragged it to the last over,” skipper Rohit Sharma said after the second T20I telecasted on DD National (sports).
