The Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) is set to commence from August 29, bringing yet another edition of action-packed drama on the floor. The league will be staged in four phases. Vizag returns after six years to host league where the first leg will be held.
Ahead of the PKL 12, teams have begun announcing their leaders. UP Yoddhas have announced their captain and vice-captain for the upcoming season.
Yodhas have reposed faith in their old captain who led them in most of PKL 11 even as they turned out to be one of the most successful teams in the previous season. The franchise had also retained most of its core players from the last season.
Sumit Sangwan was named the captain of UP Yodhas for PKL 12, while Ashu Singh, was appointed as the vice-captain.
Sumit Sangwan
Sumit Sangwan plays at the left corner, which is one of the crucial positions as far as defence is concerned. Sangwan has been an integral part of the Yoddhas since the beginning of his PKL career and has achieved great results.
The UP Yoddhas’ captain has over 300 tackle points in 112 matches, including 24 High 5s, and is in stellar form as well.
Ashu Singh
Ashu Singh will be the vice-captain of the team in season 12. He debuted alongside Sangwan and has been equally impressive throughout his PKL career.
He plays on the right cover and has a stunning record. Singh has scored 196 tackle points in 110 matches, including 5 High 5s.
