After a scintillating Wimbledon, the attention now moves on to the final grand slam of the year- the US Open.
The 2025 US Open Singles Main Draw is scheduled to run from Sunday, August 24, through Sunday, September 7.
World No. 1s and reigning US Open singles champions Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner are set to lead the women’s and men’s draws, respectively, as the action returns to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York.
Joining Sabalenka and Sinner at the top of the seeding list are World No. 2s Coco Gauff and Carlos Alcaraz- with both winning the French Open 2025.
While Gauff is the 2023 US Open champion, Alcaraz claimed the title in 2022.
This year’s main draw will feature a bunch of former Grand Slam champions. A total of 18 players with at least one major singles title to their name are confirmed, including 10 past US Open singles champions.
The entry list in the singles main draw was determined by ATP and WTA rankings published on July 14, 2025. While the women’s ranking cutoff for direct entry was World No. 99,the men’s cutoff was set at No. 101.

Notably, nine players will be using special or protected rankings to gain direct entry into the main draw. Among them are two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova (entered at No. 14), Australian Nick Kyrgios (No. 21), and Sorana Cirstea of Romania (No. 37). The US Open is a hardcourt tennis tournament.
It is chronologically the fourth and final of the four Grand Slam tennis events, held after the Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon. It consist of five primary championships: men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles, and mixed doubles. The tournament also includes events for senior, junior, and wheelchair players.
