The USA Swimming Championships 2025 will get underway from 3–7 June at Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis. The competition will serve as the trials for this year’s World Championships in Singapore.
The top two finishers per event — plus up to the top six in the 100m and 200m freestyles for relay purposes — make the team for worlds in July and August, should they meet a minimum qualifying time and the total roster not exceed 26 swimmers per gender.
Katie Ledecky and Gretchen Walsh headline the 2025 USA Swimming Championships having set world records in early May.
A nine-time Olympic gold medallist, Ledecky swam 8:04.12 at the TYR Pro Swim Series Fort Lauderdale, lowering her previous record set at the Olympic Games Rio 2016.
Meanwhile, Walsh, a four-time medallist at Paris 2024, followed Ledecky’s record by breaking the 100m butterfly world record in the same session. Her 54.60 time also marked the first time a woman had clocked under 55 seconds in the event.
Regan Smith and Kate Douglass are other two stars who will feature in the event.
In the men’s events, Bobby Finke, the lone American man to win an individual gold medal in Paris, leads the field. Shaine Casas enters with confidence after a recent victory in the men’s 200m IM over Olympic champion Leon Marchand.
