However, this year will see a host of emerging athletes who are ready to shine and give a tough fight to the elite names.
Here are top 10 rising starts to watch at USA Track and Field Championships 2025.
USA Track And Field Championships 2025: Top 10 Rising Stars
1. Quincy Wilson (17)
Event: Men’s 400m
The youngest U.S. Olympic track athlete in history, Quincy Wilson is already making elite headlines. In 2025, he broke his own world best over one lap with a blazing 44.10 seconds- a time faster than many Olympic finalists. With reigning Olympic champ Quincy Hall absent, Wilson has a golden chance to make his first senior World Championships team. He’s rewriting the future of American sprinting, one lap at a time.
2. Aaliyah Butler (20)
Event: Women’s 400m
Butler exploded onto the world scene this year with a personal best of 49.09 seconds in Monaco, making her one of the fastest U.S. women in history at the distance. With Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone shifting to the flat 400m, expect a thrilling head-to-head. Butler isn’t just chasing a podium- she could win the whole thing.
3. Masai Russell (24)
Event: Women’s 100m Hurdles
Fresh off a Paris 2024 Olympic gold, Masai Russell is still relatively new to the global spotlight. In a discipline dominated by past greats like Keni Harrison, Russell is writing the next chapter—and fast. She’s already a champion, but 2025 could solidify her reign.
4. Micah Williams (23)
Event: Men’s 100m
An Oregon native competing on home turf, Williams boasts a sub-10 second PB and has been quietly building a reputation as one of the most explosive starters in U.S. sprinting. Home track, national spotlight, and the chops to shock big names.
5. Hobbs Kessler (21)
Events: Men’s 1500m & 5000m
Kessler is already a world road mile record holder, but his transition back to the track is making waves. He’s targeting the 1500m and 5000m with confidence and speed to spare. His raw potential is maturing—and he could upset seasoned Olympians.
6. Juliette Whittaker & Roisin Willis (21)
Event: Women’s 800m
These NCAA stars and U20 World Champions are entering their first true senior season with serious ambitions. Both have clocked sub-2:00 and could challenge Athing Mu if she’s not at full strength. Young, fearless, and rising together—this duo could steal the show.
7. Michaela Rose (21)
Event: Women’s 800m
Representing LSU, Rose has been a dominant force in the collegiate circuit and now eyes her breakthrough moment on the pro stage. She’s another sub-2:00 runner with momentum. Don’t be surprised if she forces her way into the top 3.
8. Jasmine Moore (24)
Events: Women’s Long Jump & Triple Jump
A dominant force in the NCAA scene, Moore is now transitioning into elite pro competition. With eyes on both jumps, she could qualify for Worlds in two events. She’s the future of U.S. jumping—times two.
9. Addy Wiley (21)
Event: 1500m
Wiley’s rapid improvement curve in the 1500m has turned heads. Known for her tactical racing and sharp closing speed, she’s one smart race away from becoming a breakout name. This might be her breakout opportunity.
10. Kenneth Ferguson Jr. (22)
Event: 400m Hurdles
Though less hyped, Ferguson has been improving steadily in one of the most grueling events. With Rai Benjamin as the benchmark, Ferguson is aiming to be the next big thing in the event. He is a sleeper pick with a chance to emerge in 2025.
