After his incredible performance in the IPL, young Rajasthan Royals star Vaibhav Suryavanshi credited his success to his parents. The 14-year-old sensation stole the show in Jaipur during Rajasthan’s chase of a tough 210-run target against Gujarat Titans on Monday in the 18th season of the IPL.
A Star Is Born: Suryavanshi’s Record-Breaking Century
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s powerful hitting and steady flow of boundaries lit up the stadium and thrilled the fans. While his partner Yashasvi Jaiswal watched from the other end, Suryavanshi smashed the fastest century by an Indian in IPL history, reaching the milestone in just 35 balls and marking himself as a future star.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Opens Up On Parents’ Sacrifices
However, Suryavanshi’s journey to success wasn’t easy. He shared how much his parents have done to support him. His mother would wake up early to cook for him before practice, and his father even left his job to help him focus on cricket. Thanks to their efforts and sacrifices, the 14-year-old has come a long way in his career.
“Whatever I am today, I owe it to my parents. My mother used to wake up early because I had to go to practice, and she used to prepare food for me. She would sleep for three hours. My father left his work for me, and my big brother is handling it now. We were struggling. My father has backed me and said I would be able to achieve it. Whatever result is visible today, and the success I have achieved, is due to my parents,” Vaibhav said in a video posted by IPL on X.
Suryavanshi started his innings with a huge 90m six off Mohammed Siraj, leaving even the bowler impressed. He easily handled Rashid Khan’s spin and kept Gujarat Titans’ bowlers and coaches guessing.
Though Prasidh Krishna finally dismissed him with a perfect yorker at 101 off 38 balls, the match was already out of GT’s hands. Rajasthan Royals cruised to an 8-wicket win.
