Personal Life

Mboko’s parents moved from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the U.S. due to political unrest, and later settled down in Toronto, Canada.  She was also raised in both Toronto and Burlington, Ontario. 

She is the youngest of four siblings, all tennis players, with her sister Gracia and brother Kevin playing college tennis. 

Tennis Career

Mboko started playing around age three or four and has represented Canada at various junior tournaments and on the professional circuit as well.

She has publicly acknowledged the support from Tennis Canada and fellow Canadian players as instrumental to her development. 

Mboko made her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the 2022 Canadian Open in doubles and the 2022 Championnats Banque Nationale de Granby in singles, losing to Rebecca Marino. 

She secured her first professional singles title at the ITF W25 Saskatoon in 2022, defending it in 2023. 

2025 turned out to be a breakthrough year for Mboko’s on the WTA Tour, as she won five ITF singles titles early in the season, including 22 consecutive match wins without dropping a set. 

This propelled her to her first Grand Slam main draws at the French Open (third round) and Wimbledon (second round). 

She reached her first semi-final at WTA 1000 level at the 2025 National Bank Open on home soil, upsetting world No. 2 Coco Gauff
