England Test cricket team skipper Ben Stokes has decided to step down as a player in ODIs and retire from the format on Monday. He announced on Monday, 18th July that he will be playing his last ODI game against South Africa on Tuesday, 19th July. It was a very shocking news not just for English fans but the whole cricketing fraternity. Ben Stokes has done so much for England cricket and will be remembered as one of the best all-rounders of the team in the format (ODI).

Virat Kohli after hearing this news replied to Stokes’ Instagram post regarding his retirement. Kohli feels he is the most competitive bloke he has ever faced. Ben Stokes reacted to his this message and praised him a lot in an interview with Sky Sports ahead of his last game against South Africa.

“Yeah, Virat’s gonna go down as one of the greatest ever players to have ever played the game in all three formats. He’s a phenomenal player. I have absolutely loved it every time I have played against him. The energy and the commitment that he gives it on the field is something that I’ve admired even before I started playing against him,” said Ben Stokes via Sky Sports.
