Virat Kohli is a man of comebacks. The 33-year-old Indian cricketer endured several highs and lows in his 14-year-old international career. Incidentally, talks on form, temperament, captaincy, and anger management surrounded the Indian superstar.

A passionate cricketer, VK has been answering his critics in two ways, with the bat, and with his press meets. It came as a major respite when the champion cricketer rediscovered his lost touch in the Asia Cup 2022. King Kohli, as named by fans, has registered scores of 35, 59, and 60 in his three innings in the Asia Cup, so far. As a result, he is the top run scorer for Team India so far.

Virat Kohli is India’s mainstay

The last time, Virat hit an international century, the world was living in the pre-covid times. Incidentally, his bat went quiet and a series of fifties followed. They were impactful, yet not enough to get his fans and supporters going. Everyone expects him to smash big runs, as he has set such a standard for his game.

The Indian superstar has an average of over fifty in all formats. However, he suffered a lean patch during the 2022 IPL and a few international matches following the league. This setback led to several former players questioning his place on the team. Meanwhile, the team management and skipper Rohit Sharma displayed confidence in the former Indian skipper.

The ever-grinding Kohli also displayed composure and humility and hard work during the tough times. In a recent interview, he admitted he did not touch the bat for 30 days. The intention was to get his mind off the game and then make a comeback. All the efforts have borne fruit, as the legend is slowly getting back to big scores and facing pressure situations with composure.

Kohli’s century drought

The Indian icon will be keen to end his century drought, but it is unlikely that he may get that chance in T20 format.  The lesser number of balls he faces, and the requirement to lift the run rate have all led to his successive fifty scores. Incidentally, the superstar has not hit a T20I century for the Indian team yet.

However, fans would hope that the King rediscover his knack for hitting centuries and increase the list of records he has made in his illustrious career.
