Ace Indian shuttler, HS Prannoy, clinched a notable feat in the BWF World Tour Rankings, updated on September 6. In a big boost, the 30-year-old Indian became the World’s Number One player in the men’s singles category. The talented singles player prevailed over dominant names in international badminton, including Viktor Axelsen, to claim this remarkable achievement.
Meanwhile, talking about the ranking, the experienced campaigner expressed delight over this year’s performance. He thanked his coach and former badminton star P Gopichand and support staff for the constant encouragement. The 30-year-old also thanked his family for the constant support. Prannoy added he will try to achieve more wins in the coming years.

“My aim is to win a gold medal for India in the Olympics. I will do my best to get that medal,” says the talented shuttler. One of the promising shuttles in the country, the 30-year-old star hails from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Notably, he achieved his career-high ranking of 8, in the year 2018. The hard-working Prannoy trains at Gopichand Academy in Hyderabad.
HS Prannoy results in BWF World Tour
The 2022 BWF World Tour started on January 11. It will end on December 18. It is the fifth season of the BWF Badminton World Tour. The tour comprises 22 tournaments. The final of the tour is in December.

Prannoy started 2022 with a quarterfinal finish in the India Open in January. In March 2022, he earned a quarterfinal finish in the German Open 2022. In the same month at the 2022 All England Open, he could not progress beyond the first round.
However, in the Swiss Open 2022 held the same month, he was the runner-up, losing to Leonardus Jonatan Christie of Indonesia in the final. In the 2022 Indonesia Open, Prannoy earned a semifinal finish. Meanwhile, in the same month, he lost in the quarterfinals at the 2022 Malaysian Open.

In July in Malaysia Masters 2022, the shuttler finished the tournament on a sedate note after losing in the semifinal. Meanwhile, the badminton star recently announced on social media that he is tying the knot on September 11.
