India lost the first T20I against South Africa on Thursday, 9th June. The match was played at Arun Jaitley Stadium. South Africa batter Rassie van der Dussen scored a blistering 76* runs in 46 balls to make South Africa win the first T20I of 5.
David Miller and Rassie van der Dussen’s half-centuries helped South Africa take the lead by 1-0 against India in the 5-match T20I series. Rassie van der Dussen opened up on his dropped catch during the game. Dussen was dropped by Kolkata Knight Rider’s skipper Shreyas Iyer in the first T20I when he was batting on 29 runs. That was the turning point in the game as Rassie van der Dussen played a special knock after that dropped catch.
“When Shreyas dropped me, I knew I had to make India pay,” said Rassie van der Dussen after the first T20I as quoted by India Today.
Shreyas Iyer dropped catch cost India this game. India scored 211 runs but failed to defend the total. Indian bowlers didn’t take many wickets in the middle overs and that is also the reason that South African batters took the game away from the host.
