Otis, one of WWE RAW’s most entertaining superstars, has been missing from television for months. Fans last saw him compete in May when he faced Rusev in a singles match. Unfortunately, Otis lost that bout and after that night, he disappeared from WWE programming.

So, what happened to him, and why has he been absent from the ring?

Why Otis is Away from WWE

According to recent reports, Otis is currently taking a break from WWE. Sources say that he is not listed on WWE’s internal roster at the moment. The exact reason for his absence hasn’t been made public. It’s unclear whether he’s recovering from an injury or dealing with personal matters, but the main fact is that he’s unavailable for weekly shows right now.

A WWE insider explained:

“Yeah, Joe, I believe he’s out of action, don’t know if it’s an injury or personal reasons. You know, we speak about this roster that shows up. Otis is currently not on the roster, which means they’re not available. For whatever reason, personal or injury, I don’t know, I don’t wanna speculate. However, they’re just not available for weekly TV at the moment.”

Otis’ Popularity with Fans

Otis has been a fan favorite for years, especially for his work in the Alpha Academy with Chad Gable. Their partnership brought plenty of comedic moments, fun backstage segments, and exciting matches. The breakup storyline of Alpha Academy had the WWE Universe hooked, and many are still hoping to see them reunite in the future.

His mix of humor, charisma, and surprising athletic ability has made him stand out as one of RAW’s most beloved personalities.

How WWE Could Use Otis After His Return

When Otis makes his comeback, WWE could position him in the mid-card division of Monday Night RAW. A great option would be to have him challenge for the Intercontinental Championship.

At the moment, Dominik Mysterio holds the IC title on the red brand. If Dominik continues his reign, Otis could be the perfect underdog to step up and challenge him. A storyline between the fun-loving Otis and the arrogant “Dirty Dom” could be both entertaining and competitive.

If Otis were to win the Intercontinental Championship, it would be a major step in proving himself as a singles competitor. Triple H, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, has a history of giving underdog stars big opportunities, and Otis could be the next in line.
