Indian Premier League (IPL) has become the most popular T20 league in the country during the past 12 seasons. Since its introduction in 2008, the competition has grown in popularity, and cricket players and fans worldwide are counting down the days till the tournament’s commencement. In 12 seasons, six teams have won the championship at least once. Some teams have won the IPL twice or three times; others have never won an IPL season. Royal Challengers Bangalore
This team has some of the most famous names in cricket, but every IPL season, they let down their fans, who call themselves the “RED ARMY.” Some teams still want to have their batting order. But their teamwork needs to be better for them to win the title. Why and how the Bangalore-based franchise has never won an IPL game is a mystery. RCB has had some of the biggest names in cricket since its first year. They’ve had a strong team year after year, but they still need to win the trophy. They came in second place in 2009, 2011, and 2016, which was the closest they got to winning the trophy.
Punjab Kings (PBKS)
Since 2008, KXIP has competed in the IPL. However, they consistently rank as one of the worst teams in the competition. Only twice in the past 13 years have they qualified for the postseason, in 2008 and 2014. Each of these actors was at the pinnacle of their career in 2014. They scored plenty of runs, reduced costs, picked up wickets, and played competent defence. That season, they led the league in points and held out good hope for a championship for the first time.
In the championship game, they took on Kolkata Knight Riders. The intensity and brilliance of the match were both breath-taking. It was a triumph achieved via a ball-by-ball change of sides. There was a moment when PBKS was winning the match, but the KKR’s bench players played very well under duress and stole the game from the hosts, crushing PBKS’s hopes of winning the inaugural IPL championship.
Delhi Daredevils / Capitals
The Delhi team changed its name in 2018 to the Delhi Daredevils, but their luck stayed the same. They made it to the final of IPL 2020, but they lost to Mumbai because they were too strong. Delhi hasn’t won an IPL title because they don’t play the same way every time. The problem of opening pairs was always a problem for DC. Delhi Capitals also needed help finding a good captain, but in the IPL 2019, they got Shreyas Iyer as the best captain. It was their second appearance in the playoffs. They qualified with the IPL’s youngest team and were close to winning the title.
They could have played better, but their competition always outperformed them. Although they gave it all yearly, they could never win the Indian Premier League. Not all IPL champions have made it to the final game.
