Who Is Arvid Lindblad?
Arvid Lindblad was born in Surrey, England, on 8 August 2007. He comes from a culturally gifted family with his father being Swedish and his mother being an Indian-British. This 17-year-old prodigy has made it to the top ranks of motorsport. He started Karting at just five years old and won major titles such as the WSK Super Master Series and WSK Euro Series.
His journey has been nothing but outstanding. He went from being a Karting prodigy to a Formula 2 race winner. He transitioned to single-seater racing in 2022, competing in the Italian and UAE Formula 4 championships.
Lindblad’s breakthrough moment came in 2023 when he won the prestigious Macau Grand Prix. In 2024, he joined PREMA Racing for the F1 Championships, where he won multiple races, including a double victory at the Silverstone Circuit. He then moved up to Formula 2 with Campos Racing for the 2025 season and created history by becoming the youngest race winner in F2 at just 16 years old.
His consistent results prompted the FIA to give him an F1 super license as a special exemption from the rule that a driver must be 18 years old to compete in F1.
Red Bull is famous for welcoming young talents, like Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen, both of whom became world champions. Arvid Lindblad joined the Red Bull junior team in 2021 as a part of their development program.
How Could He Replace Max Verstappen At The British Grand Prix 2025?
Now comes the big question: How can Arvid Lindblad replace Max Verstappen? Well, as we all know, Verstappen has collected enough penalty points over the past year to land him a one-race ban. If he manages to get even one more penalty point at the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix 2025, he will face a race ban.
Since Arvid Lindblad already has an FIA Super License, he will be eligible to compete in the next race, the British Grand Prix 2025. Considering his double victory record at Silverstone, the team is considering him as a potential replacement for Verstappen. While there is no official confirmation of Verstappen’s absence at Silverstone, he could still be sidelined, especially after the high-profile collision with George Russell at the Canadian Grand Prix.
