Geno Crandall is an American basketball player who currently plays for BG Göttingen of the Basketball Bundesliga. Crandall was a four-year starter at the University of North Dakota before transferring to Gonzaga as a redshirt senior. Crandall was named British Basketball League MVP twice as an expert, in 2021 and 2022. Crandall went to DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he grew up. During his time there, he was a member of three sequential state championship winning teams. He was named Tri-Metro All-Conference in both his junior and senior years.
Crandall received relatively little attention after graduating from high school, despite his trophies and independent distinctions. He was unranked in the 2014 recruiting class. In the fall of his senior year, he devoted to play college basketball at North Dakota.
Crandall relocated from the Czech Republic to England, where he joined the Leicester Riders of the British Basketball League. His first season in England was a massive success for both himself and his club. Crandall ended the season second in assists, fourth in steals, and 9th in scoring in the BBL. Crandall was named the BBL’s Most Distinguished Player following the Riders’ regular-season championship.
Crandall re-signed with Leicester for the upcoming season, which begins in May 2021. Crandall led the Riders to the BBL Cup, regular league, and playoff finals, averaging 13.1 points and 6.8 assists per game while shooting 50% from the field. He was their celebrity player, and he won MVP and Finals MVP yet again. Crandall signed a contract with BG Göttingen on July 29, 2022, for the 2022-23 Basketball Bundesliga season.

Crandall’s career statistics for BBL (2020-21) are as follows: GP (31), GS (28), MPG (29.3), FG% (.481), FT% (.789), RPG (5.7), APG (8.0), SPG (1.9), BPG (0.2). Crandall’s career statistics for BBL (2021-22) are as follows: GP (26), GS (N/A), MPG (26.2), FG% (.500), FT% (.773), RPG (5), APG (6.8), SPG (1.8), BPG (0.5).
Geno Crandall has also named Geno Crandall the Molten BBL MVP for 2021/22. Crandall has been named Riders MVP in both of his seasons, making him only the fourth player in BBL history to do so. Crandall ended up leading the Riders to their biggest league winning edge in league history, finishing 27-2 and 16 points ahead of second place. He won the league with a season-high 25 points even against Plymouth City Patriots.
