On Wednesday, February 23, Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans will face off in the 2022 Pakistan Super League (PSL) Qualifier. The match will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The Sultans, captained by Mohammad Rizwan, have performed admirably thus far in the competition. They finished first in the points standings after winning nine of their ten games. Their net run rate of 1.253 is likewise the highest of the eight teams competing. With the exception of a 52-run loss against the Qalandars on February 11, the Sultans have looked their best this season. On February 20, they defeated Islamabad United by a six-wicket margin. United scored only 105-7 after electing to bat first. Liam Dawson threatened with an 11-ball 22-ball knock that included five fours, but David Willey got him out. Azam Khan, Danish Aziz, and Zafar Gohar all fell short of the double digits. Muhammad Musa’s cameo eventually pushed them beyond 100. Musa batted undefeated for an unbeaten 21-ball 26 with two fours and two sixes.

For the Sultans, Asif Afridi and Imran Tahir both took two wickets. The Sultans had no issue in their run chase, as they reached the goal in 17.2 overs. Rizwan finished undefeated on 51 off 42 balls, thanks to two fours and a six. Willey’s undefeated 32-ball knock of 28 helped the Sultans cross the finish line. United’s Liam Dawson took three wickets, but his efforts were in fruitless.
