Hansi Flick and Bayern Munich have decided to part ways after the current season. In the season of 2018-2019, Hansi Flick was an assistant coach for the club when Bayern fired the head coach Nico Kovac. In November 2019, Flick was immediately made the interim coach and a month later was promoted as the head coach of the club.

During the 2019–20 season, Flick successfully guided Bayern to win the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and UEFA Champions League, thus completing the treble for the second time in the club’s history. He was named German Football Manager of the Year by sports magazine kicker and also won the UEFA Men’s Coach of the Year Award. The following season, he led Bayern to win the 2020 UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla. He also led Bayern to win its first-ever sextuple after winning Club World Cup in February 2021 by defeating Mexican team Tigres.

The club hired 13 coaches in total from 1998 to date. Only a few coaches stood out from the rest. Ottmar Hitzfield, Jupp Heynckes, Pep Guardiola and Hansi Flick were the coaches who won major trophies with the club. Ottmar Hitzfield was hired as a coach by the club in 1998. He stayed at the club for a period of 8 years. In his first managerial season, he led the club to renewed championship glories, winning the league title by 15 points, a record margin. Ottmar Hitzfield won 14 trophies over 2 spells with the club which is still the maximum by any coach in Bayern’s History.

Guardiola won 7 major trophies with the club in a 3 year spell at the club but Guardiola wasn’t able to win the Champions League with the German Club. Jupp Heynckes though only won 4 titles with the club in 2 seasons, he still is considered one of the best as he lead the club to European glory.

Hansi Flick has won 6 trophies in a year and is almost guaranteed another Bundesliga title. He will be leaving Bayern this year with 7 trophies making him the joint 2nd best coach in terms of trophies in the club history. Ottmar Hitzfield will still be the coach with the maximum number of trophies with the club but Flick will go down as one of the greatest coaches in club’s history for achieving 7 trophies in a period of 1.5 years.
