There have been a lot of cricket teams that have dominated and won a lot of events and matches, and no other team appeared to be close to them. For example, from the 1970s to the 1980s, the West Indies cricket team was the best in the world, with very few cricket teams able to compete against them and some of the best players in the world. Then there was the Australian men’s cricket team, which won almost everything from the 1990s to the late 2000s, but none of these teams are the best ever.
Since the 2000s, the Australian women’s cricket team has been unstoppable, and it hasn’t stopped in almost 20 years. They have had some of the best cricketers play for them, and they have such a ruthless winning mentality that nobody has been able to compete with them.
So, here are some of the reasons why this team is the best of all time:
The Australian women’s team has had a slew of world-class players play for yhek over the years, which has contributed to their dominance for so long. They had pioneers like Lisa Sthelekar and Mel Jones, and then they had players like Elysse Perry, Meg Lanning, Alyssa Healy, Beth Mooney, and others who are still on the core team and have improved. Newer players like Ashleigh Gardener, Tahila McGrath, Grace Harris, and Annabelle Sutherland are adding depth to the squad. Some of the best players included Rachael Haynes and Megan Schutt.
As the saying goes, winning is a habit, and this Australian team has had a great habit of winning everything, at the expense of all the other teams. They have won six T20I World Cups, which is simply incredible, and have reached the final seven times out of eight times. They have also won multiple One-Day International World Cups, most recently in 2013,2022. And they don’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
Perhaps the most important reason they are the best team of all time is that for nearly a decade, there have been few changes made to this all-star team and there is no need to change anything and they just add a few players here and there to add depth and more quality to the squad and that thinking and longevity that all of them have had and by playing so much domestic cricket and the WBBL it has prepared them for all situations. With the start of the WPL, perhaps India will be the team to challenge their dominance.
