FIBA Women’s Basketball Asia Cup returns for yet another thrilling tournament in the basketball calendar. The tournament will be held from July 13-20 Shenzhen, China.
This will be the 31st edition of the Women’s Basketball Asia Cup.
At stake is an opportunity for World Cup qualification.
While the winner will directly qualify for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, the next five finishers (2nd–6th place) will advance to the global qualifying tournaments.
China are the reigning champions.
FIBA Women’s Basketball Asia Cup 2025: Format
Eight teams will feature in the tournament that is split into two groups of four teams. The first-placed team qualifies to the semifinals while the second-and third-placed teams play in a playoff round. The second-placed teams face off against the third-placed teams. A knockout-system will be used after the preliminary round with the losing teams playing in a classification game.
