Chelsea and Real Madrid have already booked spots in quarter-finals- defeating Celtic and Twente respectively.

The runners-up in 2020-21, Chelsea are currently group toppers with 15 points – three ahead of Madrid, which registered 3-0 success at Celtic to keep their hope for top spot alive.

Chelsea need to avoid defeat when they meet Real Madrid on 17 December to progress as group winners, while a win for Madrid would see them finish first.

Manchester City cemented their top spot by beating St Polten in their penultimate group game on Thursday night.

Barcelona joined City in the last eight with their 3-0 win at Hammarby – ending the Swedish side’s hopes of progressing.

A match in Spain on 18 December will decide who tops the group.

If holders beat City then both sides will be locked on 15 points, so top spot will be decided by their head-to-head record.

City, who won 2-0 against Barca earlier in the campaign and lead their rivals by three points, will finish top if they win, draw or lose by only one goal.
