Indian pugilists are ready to shine at the Elite Women’s Boxing Tournament that is set to commence on Friday in Hyderabad, Telangana.
The event will unfold from June 28 to July 1 in which more than 100 boxers from the country are expected to take part. The draw for the competition is slated to take place on June 27.
The bouts of the Women’s Elite Boxing Tournament 2025 will take place at the Saroor Nagar Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad.
Two-time world champion Nikhat Zareen, Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain, and former world youth champion Ankushita Boro headline the 2025 Elite Women’s Boxing Tournament.
Other notable names in the fray include World Championships bronze medallist Manisha Moun, Olympian Preeti, world youth champion Arundhati Chaudhary, and more than 100 other contenders.
Many other top Indian boxers are also in contention in Hyderabad.
The gold and silver medallists in each category will qualify for the elite national camp in Patiala.
“This tournament is designed to strengthen the competitive structure of Indian boxing. It provides our top athletes competitive exposure and a platform for young boxers to challenge the experienced boxers, learn from them and advance towards high performance training being provided at national camps,” said BFI president Ajay Singh.

The tournament featuring boxers from 15 units, including top 12 teams of 8th Elite Women National Boxing Championship 2025, one host state Team, one Combined SAI NCOE team and TOPS Core & Development team.

Women’s Elite Boxing Tournament 2025: Format
A team consists of a maximum of 10 numbers of boxers, not exceeding one boxer in each weight class. No reserves will be allowed.
The matches will be played in three rounds of three minutes, with one minute rest between rounds. 10 points must scoring system shall be followed. Tournament will be conducted as per WB Technical & Competition Rules. Review system will not be used.
