The FIH Women’s Hockey Nations Cup is back for its fourth edition, running from June 15 to 21, 2026, at the North Harbour National Hockey Centre in Auckland, New Zealand.
The teams have a lot to play for. This tournament is the way to get to the elite level of international hockey.
The team that wins the gold medal will get to play in the 2026-27 FIH Pro League. This is a deal because the next Pro League season will also decide which teams go to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The FIH Women’s Hockey Nations Cup has two groups with teams that are very competitive. Pool A has India, Japan, the United States and Uruguay, which is playing in the tournament for the first time.
Pool B has New Zealand, which is the host team, along with South Korea, Chile and France.
The FIH Women’s Hockey Nations Cup is already seeing some teams, like India and New Zealand, do well and get into the semifinals early.
Now it seems like the teams with the depth and the best way of managing their players will do the best.
