Women’s ODI Tri-Series: Sri Lanka Cricket has announced that it will host a Women’s ODI tri-series with India, South Africa, and Sri Lanka from April 27 to May 11, 2025. This series, which was not part of the original schedule, will help the teams prepare for the Women’s ODI World Cup in India later this year. All the matches will be held as day games at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Women’s ODI Tri-Series Schedule and Format
“Each team will play four games, and the top two teams will qualify to play the finals on the 11th of May, 2025,” the SLC said on their website.
Each team will play four matches, facing the other two teams twice in the group stage. The top two teams from the group stage will play in the final on May 11. The series will start with Sri Lanka playing India on April 27.

While Sri Lanka is currently touring New Zealand for white-ball matches, some Indian and South African players are playing in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). South Africa’s next international series was originally planned for June against the West Indies, so this tri-series will be an important part of their preparation.
India, ranked third in the ICC Women’s ODI rankings, will be the highest-ranked team in the series. South Africa is ranked fourth, and Sri Lanka, the current Women’s Asia Cup champions, is ranked seventh. South Africa reached the semifinals of the last ODI World Cup in 2022 after defeating India in the group stage.
