While Sri Lanka is currently touring New Zealand for white-ball matches, some Indian and South African players are playing in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). South Africa’s next international series was originally planned for June against the West Indies, so this tri-series will be an important part of their preparation.

India, ranked third in the ICC Women’s ODI rankings, will be the highest-ranked team in the series. South Africa is ranked fourth, and Sri Lanka, the current Women’s Asia Cup champions, is ranked seventh. South Africa reached the semifinals of the last ODI World Cup in 2022 after defeating India in the group stage.
