The 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup will be conducted from September 30 to November 2, 2025, in four Indian cities, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, and Indore, with Colombo in Sri Lanka as a neutral venue. It is the first time India has hosted the Women’s ODI World Cup since 2013.
Eight teams will play in a round-robin competition, with each team playing every other team once. The top four teams make it to the semi-finals, ending up with the Women’s ODI World Cup final on November 2.
Hybrid Model: Pakistan to Play All Matches in Colombo
As a result of continued diplomatic animosity between Pakistan and India, all of Pakistan’s Women’s ODI World Cup fixtures will take place in Colombo. This is under a hybrid hosting arrangement that has been agreed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The requirement for this fixture arises from India choosing to hold its 2025 Men’s Champions Trophy matches in Dubai rather than Pakistan. Due to this, Pakistan has opted not to go to India for its Women’s ODI World Cup matches.
Venue Information and Major Matches

Opening Match: India will be the first team to play in the tournament on September 30 in Bengaluru.
Semi-Finals:
First Semi-Final: Guwahati or Colombo (subject to Pakistan’s qualification).
Second Semi-Final: Bengaluru- October 30.
Final Match: November 2, either in Bengaluru or Colombo, depending on the finalists.
Confirmed Indian Venues:
Bengaluru
Guwahati
Visakhapatnam
Indore
New Chandigarh was initially in contemplation for hosting, including the final, but was shelved due to apprehensions regarding India potentially playing at a ground with no existing international matches. Comparatively, Bengaluru was selected based on cricketing history and the presence of robust fan support.

Tournament Format and Match Count
The structure does not differ from the 2022 Women’s ODI World Cup, where there is a round-robin format with each team playing the other once. The top four teams qualify for the semi-finals, resulting in a total of 31 games over the five-week duration.
2026 Women’s T20 World Cup in England
While the cricket fraternity eagerly anticipates the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup, focus will soon be on the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup, to be held from June 12 to July 5, 2026, in England.
