Current world champion Jaismine Lamboria registered a clinical 5-0 win over Ulzhan Sarsenbek of Kazakhstan in the semi-finals of the women’s 57kg at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex, before she readies herself for an impending gold medal clash with Paris Olympic medallist Wu Shih-Yi of Chinese Taipei.
Two-time world champion Nikhat Zareen led India’s charge with a masterful performance in the women’s 51kg category. The Indian used sharp left hooks and tactical aggression to defeat Uzbekistan’s Ganieva Gulsevar 5-0, sealing another unanimous semi-final win for the hosts.
India Registers Triple Triumph Over Uzbekistan
The final session of the day saw India complete a stunning hat-trick of victories against Uzbekistan:
Sachin (Men’s 60kg) dominated early to beat Dilshod Abdumurodov
Impressive Hitesh Gulia won against Mukhammadazizbek Ismoilov 5-0 with counter-punching in men’s 70kg.
Nikhat Zareen led off the triple success with an impressive 51kg triumph.
These victories further strengthened India’s medal prospects going into the championship round.
