ICC Appoints All-Female Panel for Women’s World Cup 2025: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has made history once again in its mission to elevate women’s cricket. For the first time ever, the Women’s World Cup will be officiated entirely by an all-female ICC Panel of Match Officials.
This groundbreaking decision reflects years of effort and commitment from the governing body to give women a stronger voice in cricket. Similar steps have already been seen at major events like the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and the two most recent ICC Women’s T20 World Cups, which also featured all-female officiating teams.
“A Defining Moment” for Women’s Cricket
Calling it a milestone moment, ICC chairman Jay Shah said: “This marks a defining moment in the journey of women’s cricket, one that we hope will pave the way for many more trailblazing stories across all facets of the sport. The inclusion of an all-women panel of match officials is not only a major milestone but also a powerful reflection of the ICC’s unwavering commitment to advancing gender equity across cricket.”
