World Tennis League 2025: Prize Money
The organizers have kept the specific breakdown of prize money private. However, based on the league’s history and current reports, here is what is known about the financial side of the tournament:
- Total Prize Pool: Reports suggest the total pool is in the region of $20 million.
- Appearance Fees: Because this is an exhibition featuring high-profile stars like Daniil Medvedev, Nick Kyrgios, and Paula Badosa, a significant portion of the budget goes toward guaranteed appearance fees, which vary based on a player’s ranking and star power.
How the Money is Awarded
Unlike standard tournaments where you earn money per round, the WTL is a team-based format.
- Team Rewards: The prize money is typically distributed to the teams based on their final standings (Champions vs. Runners-up).
- Winning Team: In previous years, the champions received the largest share of the pool, which is then split among the team members.
- Indian Players: A unique feature of the 2025 Bengaluru edition is the mandatory inclusion of two Indian players per team (like Rohan Bopanna and Sumit Nagal), who also share in the team’s earnings and gain significant financial exposure.
