World Tennis League 2025: Confirmed Teams And Squads; Schedule, Format

The World Tennis League (WTL) is all set to make its highly anticipated India debut from December 17 to 20, 2025. This is the fourth edition of the mixed-gender team competition that will be staged at the historic SM Krishna Tennis Stadium in Bengaluru.

The league will feature some of the biggest tennis talent. Along with Grand Slam champion Daniil Medvedev and Elena Rybakina, Aussie maverick Nick Kyrgios, Gael Monfils of France, Paula Baodsa of Spain and Canada’s Denis Shapovalov will feature in the event.

World Tennis League 2025: Format

The World Tennis League is unlike any other traditional tournaments. It features four mixed-gender teams who will play in a round-robin format. The fixtures will consist of Men’s singles, Women’s singles and two doubles events. Matches will follow traditional scoring with a Golden Point at deuce and a tie-break at 6–6. If the trailing team claims the fourth set, the match proceeds into Overtime, and if scores level out, a Super Shootout will determine the winner- guaranteeing a dramatic finish every night.

Adding a strategic edge, “the captain who wins the pre-match toss will decide the doubles combinations.” Unlike traditional formats, each tie will be won by the team that accumulates the most games overall, ensuring that “every game, and every point carries weight.”

At the end of the league stage, the top two teams will advance to the final. The league promises to be a action-packed spectacle over the four days.
