The Delhi team had to settle for runners-up in the first season in 2023 and the second season in 2024, losing in the finals against Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore respectively. This time Jemima hopes to go one step further.

Jemima said in a Delhi Capitals release, “We have performed very well and consistently as a team in the last two seasons. Of course, we could not cross the final hurdle which I am sure we will cross and hold the trophy in our hands. But we are doing the right things.”

She said, ‘There are some days when you cannot control the result. We are working hard as a team and will continue to play to win.’ Talking about preparations for the upcoming WPL, Jemima said, ‘My preparation is very simple. Whatever I will have to face in the match, I will try to replicate those situations in practice. Whether it is playing aggressively or handling the innings from one end.’

She said, ‘There is also a lot of power-hitting in it because it is T20. So I use heavier balls which help me swing my bat faster and get more power.’ The 24-year-old has scored 381 runs in 18 WPL matches at a strike rate of 143.82.
